I’ve been on a local shopping spree lately. Since I started a farm to classroom grant at school, I thought I’d take advantage of my 10% discount and purchase local beef for my family on the same day. Just last week I purchased five pounds of ground beef and two roasts. This ground beef has never been frozen; talk about fresh! I also bought two large frozen roasts for $6.50/lb.
I’ve already made french dip roast sandwiches with one roast and made vegetable beef soup with the leftovers on a rainy day.
I had to make fresh burgers on the first day and season them one of our favorite ways. Other burgers go in the freezer for a later date.
Have you tasted the difference in local meat?
