My excuse for taking a week of from blogging is San Diego. I’ve been there for 7 days and I had to take two naps on Saturday to catch up from missed sleep. I took two of my students from school with a community service project, called Cougar PAWS. Our foods class partnered with many different groups to feed our disadvantaged students in our high school. This was my first year integrating FCCLA, (Family, Career, Community Leaders of America) and our team qualified at state to go to San Diego. My colleague and I screamed when we heard our girls won gold at nationals. It’s been an exciting week with students.
I was very happy to come home to my four kiddos and make some special treats for them. I missed them so much.
My two youngest and I picked lettuce for a fresh North Carolina salad. YUM.
After my day of rest, I spent the morning making homemade cinnamon rolls and whole wheat chocolate chip cookies for them. I am heading out Tuesday morning for a 3-day summer conference for teachers. I’ll be missing them again…
I wanted to leave them with a sweet taste. I hope your summer is a little slower pace than mine. I hope to post on Friday when I return. Happy summer!
Are you traveling this summer?
