Have you heard of Monk Fruit in the Raw? It peaked my interest when I received a review kit from Moms Meet with a recipe idea like sugar cookies since I love freezing cookies during the holidays. Since it was Thanksgiving week we had quite a few bananas that needed to be addressed. So I pulled out my usual banana chocolate chip bread recipe and the Monk Fruit in the Raw.
Before I knew it I had 8 mini-loaves of bread. Interestingly, this 100% natural zero calorie sweetener measures cup for cup like baking. It’s also from Asia which I had no idea. It definitely looks similar to sugar and bakes up delicious looking in baked goods. It is recommended to only replace half of the amount of sugar with Monk Fruit In The Raw for best results. These look beautiful enough to freeze in cellophane bags and give to friends and family and neighbors with health concerns for Christmas. I’m already thinking of my diabetic neighbor and father-in-law. I’m also considering purchasing some other products like Agave in the Raw, I discovered on the Monk Fruit in the Raw facebook page to create a diabetic basket of goodies!
I’ve been checking out other recipes in In the Raw recipes like Kettle Corn since we make our own version of kettle corn using Sugar in the Raw, which is organic cane sugar. Since I’m health conscious with my family. I like the fact that it is naturally vegan, kosher, and gluten-free, and does not contain any added table sugar, sugar alcohols, or molasses. The single packets of Monk Fruit In The Raw is about as sweet as two teaspoons of sugar so I only use a 1/2 of it to occasionally sweeten my tea. The price still seems reasonable like Stevia, which I also buy. One box of Monk Fruit In The Raw (40ct packets) retails for $3.49, and the Monk Fruit In The Raw Bakers Bag retails for $6.99. Prices may vary based on the retailer.
Here are some great coupons to try their products during your holiday baking.
